Physiotherapy Assistant

Heather travelled to New Zealand after graduating with a BA in Sociology in 2004, and after a few years of travelling and working in the travel industry she moved into the health and fitness world, managing several gyms within a chain in Wellington for 6 years. She found she was passionate about coaching and motivating members to better their health, and became qualified in both NZQA Level 3 Exercise Science (2016) and NZQA Level 3 Group Fitness Instructor (prechoreographed) (2015) using these qualifications to work as a group fitness instructor teaching regular classes in her gym and also supporting her team of personal trainers with their development.

After having children, she made the move into the physiotherapy environment as she wanted to focus on working one on one with people in a rehabilitative setting.

“Why I do what I do”

I love building relationships and working one on one to affect change and empower clients to get the most out of life, using exercise as our tool!”

Fun fact about me:

I have thrown myself out of a plane at 15000 feet despite a fear of heights! I love trying new activities especially while visiting new places-even when it takes me out of my comfort zone!
